A problem was revealed when I installed the driving wheels and axles.

動輪を仮に組み込んでみて問題が発覚。

I made a mistake on designing and made the thickness of axle boxes 0.5mm larger. I had to remove 0.25mm on both sides. Also the spring holding holes were remade on the other side of the boxes.

軸箱に設計ミスがあり両側を0.25mmづつ詰めなければならなくなった。バネ棒の位置も0.25mmずれた。軸箱の反対側に取り付け穴を開け直した。

Spring studs were turned form 3mm SUS303.

3mmのSUS303棒からバネ棒を作る。

The axles were temporarily installed to the frame, but the rotation of the axles were not smooth at all. With this structure if the axle was slightly twisted the springs touches to the spring shoes.

車軸を台枠に入れてみる。どうも車軸の回転が渋い。この構造では車軸が少し傾くとバネが左右に振れバネ受けに当たってしまうのだ。

I had to narrow the ends of the springs to keep required clearances. I ideally the spring studs should move slightly at the joint to the axle box.

バネの両端をテーパーに削ることでごまかした。本来はバネ棒が軸箱に対してある程度自由に動けるべきなんだろう。

Horn stays were made. At first the mounting holes were drilled and counter-sank on a piece of 3mm brass plate.

軸箱控えを作る。まずは3mmの真鍮板に取り付け穴を開ける。

Mill it to the "L" shape.

これをL型に切削。
