Valve chest stuffing box has some angle against chest body and made separately from the body. To keep angle accuracy it made long enough to pass through both chest walls.

スタッフィングボックスは斜めにつくので別体にする。角度の精度を出すため弁室の前後を貫通するように長く作る。

Mistake)

The stuffing box was silver soldered to the chest, the centre part of the stuffing box touched to the chest side wall. The solder flew between stuffing box and wall.

失敗）

これを弁室に銀ロー付けしたわけだが中間部が弁室の側面に触れていたため銀ローが回ってしまった。

I milled out accidentally soldered part.

仕方ないので中間部分はフライスで削りとった。

I turned centre part of the second thinner.

二番目のやつは中間部分を細く削り直した。

Stuffing boxes were silver soldered to the chests.

出来上がった弁室。
