Crossheads were made. I cleaned up the blank from black skin MS and made required holes and threads.

クロスヘッドを作る。まずは黒皮軟鋼の厚板から必要なサイズに製材し穴を開ける。

Position of piston rod hole was marked by a centre drill.

ピストンロッド穴の位置をセンタードリルでマーク。

The blank was centred on four jaw chuck.

四ツ爪に咥えてセンター出し。

Rod hole was drilled and reamed to 2.5mm.

ロッド穴を開ける。Φ2.5のリーマーで仕上げた。

Slide bar groove was cut by slotting saw.

すり割りフライスでスライドバー溝を掘る。

Grooves accepting connecting was cut.

メインロッドの入る凹みを掘る。

The blank at this stage.

この時点でこんなものができる。

Mistake)

After cutting apart, I made threads to fix piston rod, but made one of them 1mm out of position.

失敗）

切り離してピストンロッド固定ネジ穴をあけたんだが、大失敗。左の穴位置を1mm間違えてしまった。

The thread was seen clearly from the groove. This grab screw tends to loose and I thought this mistake was unacceptable. I decided remake one.

ネジ穴が見えてしまっている。この固定ネジは緩みやすいのでこれじゃダメだな。一個作りなおすことにした。

The shape seemed too much square. I cut 1mm bottom and angled rear edge. This seems much better.

形もあまりに四角すぎるので下部を1mm詰め、後部を斜めに削ることにした。この方がだいぶマシだ。

完成したクロスヘッド。M2.6のイモネジでピストンロッドに固定する。
