I made a jig to drill mounting holes to valve chests.

穴あけ治具を作ってねじ貫通穴をあけます。

Mistake

I made a mistake. The holes with arrow should be located 1.5mm ahead to keep space for steam inlet pipe. I should be careful to read the drawing. However the diameter of the inlet pipe was 3mm and it could be managed.

失敗

実はここで失敗。矢印の穴は給気管をさけるため1.5mm前方に開けなければいけなかったのです。図面はよく見ましょう。給気管の径は3mmなのでこのままでも何とかなりそうです。

The steam inlet hole was drilled. The location was shifted behind by 1mm comparing to the text book, but it would nto be a problem.

給気管挿入孔を開けます。1mm教科書の位置より後方にずれてしまいましたが問題はないでしょう。

Also cylinder blocks were drilled and tapped with the jig.

同じ治具を使ってシリンダーブロックにも下穴を開け、タップを立てておきます。

I made the valve chest covers from 2mm brass plate on hand, but the text book specified 1.5mm. I soldered two pieces together to machine them at once.

バルブ・チェスト・カバーは教科書では1.5mm厚ですが、手持ちのちょうどいいサイズの2mm真鍮板があったので、2mmに変更。二枚を一度に加工するため半田付け。

The covers were milled, drilled and separated by heat.

周囲をフライス盤で仕上げ、治具を使って穴を開け、半田をはずせば二枚出来上がり。

Cleaned up covers. I will cut counter bores for M2 cap screw when I get them.

きれいにしたカバーです。10mm長のM2キャップボルトを入手後、取り付けボルトの座繰りを入れる予定です。

Gland nuts for valve chests. The text book specified 6mm hex brass, but I choose 5mm instead to match to the thread, M5 fine.

バルブチェストのグランドナット。教科書では6mm六角棒使用になってますがねじがM5細目なので5mmに変更。

I chamfered the gland nuts using a mandrel.

上記にものをヤトイを使って面取りしています。
