I used M2 cap bolts to fix motion plats, but they did seem good. So I made hex head bolts. Hex steel rods in small metric sizes were almost impossible to obtain in Australia. So I used annealed Allen keys as shown in a Kozo's book. Anyway these sizes of hex rods were not able to be held by three jaw chuck. So I made fixtures. I cut a through slot in turned brass rod, and ,,,,

Made other cuts to the middle of the fixture. I inserted a hex material to prevent the fixture squashed.

Finished fixture. The material was bit hard even they were annealed. Never use dull tool to cut them. I experienced the material climbed on the tool and bent quite often and found the tool was dull.

Finished M2 hex head bolts.

They seem much nicer than cap screws.
