I made the chimney. I took 20mm brass rod and drilled 10mm all through and turned down the root of the chimney to 12mm.

煙突本体を作りますが、切削手順が結構面倒くさい。まずは煙室に嵌る部分の切削。中央には10mmの穴を貫通しておきます。

I flipped the work and turned the inner taper with 3 degrees.

ひっくり返して、内側をテーパーに削ります。テーパー角は3°。

After finishing the taper, I chamfered the inner edge at 30 degrees to accept live centre later.

所定の径まで削れたら、後で回転センターを受けるための30°の面取りを少し入れます。

Then root part was fixed to the collet chuck with 10mm brass bar inserted to the work.

先に削った根元をコレットチャックに咥えます。根元は薄いですがコレットならつぶさずにつかめるはずです。でも念のため、矢印の真鍮棒をつぶれ防止のために挿入しおきました。

Other end was held by live centre and turned with 4 degree taper.

反対側を回転センターで押しながら外周を4°のテーパーに削ります。

The taper cut completed.

煙突先端のつばを残して、切削完了。
