This is the drawing of my whistle valve. It is quite different from the design of the textbook.
汽笛弁の図面ですが、教科書の物とは全く違います。共通点はタイヤ・バルブを弁に使うってとこだけかな。

I cut out brass material to the size and milled out part (1).
真鍮角材を寸法に切り出し、@の部分を切削。

The centre of the valve hole was marked by a centre drill.
穴の中心をセンタードリルでマークします。

Whistle lever fitting slot was cut.
汽笛レバーの入る溝を切ります。

It was moved to the four jaw chuck of the lathe and drilled.
旋盤の四爪で穴あけ。

Valve drive I have does not reach to the valve sits deep in the valve body. So I made a valve driver.
タイヤバルブ用のドライバも作りました。バルブ本体の奥にタイヤバルブは収まるので、普通のバルブ廻しではとどきません。

Side holes were drilled.
側面の穴あけ。

The lever forks were rounded.
レバー支持部の丸め。

Part (2) was milled.
Aの部分を切削。

Slope was milled.
斜め部分切削。

Finished valve body.

This is the tube to connect the valve body to the steam manifold. It was turned from 5mm phosphor bronze.
これは蒸気分配器とバルブ本体をつなぐためのもの。5mm燐青銅棒から削り出した。

The parts above was silver soldered the valve body.
上記部品を本体にロー付け。
