Parts re-painted with etch primer. It went better than before, but I think far from perfect. I used new Tamiya Trigger Type Wide airbrush this time. I thinned the primer by 60% of thinner, but felt bit thinner would be better.

プライマーの再塗装が終わった部品。以前よりうまくできたと思うがまだ満足な出来ではない。なおエアブラシは新しく買ったタミヤ・トリガータイプ・ワイドを使用した。プライマーは６０％のシンナーで薄めたがもう少し薄くてもいいかもしれない。

When I open the white paint can, I found the paint stared to cure. I thought liquid part would be OK to use, but……..

上塗りの黒を調合しようと思って白の缶を開けたらすでに膜が張っていた。膜の下の液体部分を使えば大丈夫だと思ったんだが。。。。。

When I sprayed the paint mix, many white blobs were found on the work. Really I do not like enamel type paint that starts curing after a couple of opening of the can. I sanded the blobs down with 1200 grit sand paper.

固まりが出て、塗装が台無しに。エナメル系の塗料は好きじゃない。すぐに固まるので。何か代換を考えたほうがいいな。これは乾いてから１２００番のサンドペーパーで平らにしもう一度吹きつけることにした。

I did not have spare paint and tried to filter out the blobs. I put four layers of industrial grade wiping tissue to the airbrush cup and squeezed by hands.

塗料がもったいないし、買いに行くのも面倒くさいので、濾してみることにした。エアブラシのカップに工業用のティッシュを４重に重ね濾してみた。手で絞らないと塗料が下に落ちない。

I found lot of blobs on the tissue. I could spray filtered paint without any problems. Still I am not so much satisfied with the result, but I accepted it. Otherwise it will never fish. The hell of painting was almost finished.

濾したあとを見ると大量の固まった白ペイントが固まりが残っていた。濾したペイントを吹きつけてみたが全く問題なく塗れた。まだ多少不満はあるが、きりがないのでよしとした。地獄の塗装はこれでほぼ完了。

I decided to make the dome window frames of the cab and boiler b ands as polished brass. At first I used metal polish, but it made the work too shiny. I finally used Scotch Brite. Then I sprayed clear varnish for metals.

ドーム、運転室窓枠、ボイラーバンドは真鍮磨きだしにすることにした。初め金属磨きで磨いたが光り過ぎるのでスコッチブライトで磨いた。その後、錆止めのクリア塗料をスプレー。
