I need to carry around my Eric to steam ups, and needed a carrying case. I decided to make one that could contain Eric and all equipment to run her. At first I made a carrying handle. I just turned it from junk wood rod to 28mm diameter.

ERICは運転会に持っていくことが多いので、運搬用の収納箱を作ることにしました。運転に必要な用品もすべて収納できるようにします。また、箱の取っ手は収納式にすることにしました。まずは取っ手から作ります。有り合わせの木の丸棒を28mm径に削ります。

Both ends have 10mm blind holes.

両端に10mmの穴を開けておきます。

I turned these parts from 10mm brass rod. Parts (1) would be inserted to the 10mm holes above. Parts (2) would be joints to the box.

10mmの真鍮丸棒からこのような部品を作りました。�@が上の丸棒の穴に嵌ります。�Aは箱側の関節になります。

M5 socket screws were fixed to parts (2) with thread locker.

�Aの部品にはM5のキャップボルトをネジロックで固定しておきます。

I made vertical parts of the handle from 6X30mm aluminium strip, and tapped with 8mm fine thread to accept above parts.

取っ手の両側の部分はｔ６、３０幅のアルミ板よりつくります。上記の金物をねじ込むM8細目のタップを立てます。

Both ends were rounded by the mill.

両端をフライスで丸めます。

I sanded the parts to give hairline finish.

切削した部品はサンドペーパーでヘアライン仕上げとしました。

To prevent rusting I sprayed clear paint.

錆止めのクリアーを吹いておいた。
