I made loco supports to prevent the loco movement while transportation. Parts touched to the loco were covered by felt.

ERIC箱の中で動いてしまわないようにサポートを作った。当たる部分にはフェルトを貼り付ける。

Loco supports hold the loco at its frame.

このように台枠の前後部分で受けるようにした。

I found the supports were not parallel and adjusted them by adding a styrene board shim.

サポートの平行が出ていなかった。矢印の部分にスチロール板とフェルトを貼り足して調整。

The box was coloured by wood stain. I chose mahogany colour.

着色剤で着色。あらが隠れるように濃い色を選択した。マホガニー。

I used water base clear varnish on hand. I painted it in the same way as oil based paint, but……

上塗りはだいぶ前にちょっと使って大量に余っていた水性クリアを塗ることにした。適当に油性塗料と同じ感じで塗ったんだが、、、、

A lot of babbles were created and dried as this. I used the varnish years ago and forgot how I had used it. I sanded down the bubbles by sand paper caring not too much sanded. Too much sanding maight remove the stain also.

失敗）

大問題発生。泡が大量に表面に残ったまま固まってしまった。この塗料何年も前に使っただけなので塗り方を忘れていた。ひたすらサンドペーパーで泡を消す。ただしやり過ぎると着色が落ちてしまうのでほどほどにした。

The brush with thick bristles created babbles. So I used a brush with fine bristles. I applied about four coats. If water base varnish is applied too thick, it may whiten.

ペンキ用の粗い毛のハケは全くダメ。泡だらけになってしまう。毛の細い筆を使うとうまく行った。4回ほど塗り重ねた。水性クリアはあまり厚く塗ると白濁してしまうのでこのへんでやめておいた。
