I made tank tops and rear panel of the cab from 0.6mm brass and pressed rivets.

Tank tops had to be removable. I reinforced them with 2X2mm brass rods. I applied wet tissue to prevent first soldering from melting when I soldered second one.

Reinforcements were soldered.

Failure
A problem was found. When I mounted the tanks the reverser did not work fully. The lifting arms touched to the reinforcement of the tank bottoms. I tried to de-solder the reinforcements, but high temperature solder I used did not melt easily. So I decided to grind off the reinforcement.

Failure
I made further mistake. When I grind out the reinforcement by a rotary tool, the tool tip slipped and a pressed rivet was damaged.

So I had to repair the rivet. I measured the rivet head and found they were only 1mm in diameter. I used 1.2mm die. Why? I do not know why, but this method gives sightly smaller rivet heads than the die hole. I made an experiment with scrap sheet and 1mm brass wire. It seemed good enough.

I drilled 1mm hole at the damaged rivet.

I soldered 1mm a piece of brass wire, its head was rounded, with fine solder to prevent too much solder applied.

I scraped out excess solder. I felt the repair work was reasonably OK.

Tank caps were made from turned brass and 1.5mm brass wire. They were screwed down from inside.

The disaster happened when I was grinding this part.

With this modification the reverser can move in its full stroke.
