I used this butane gas cartridge for fuel of live steam. However this cartridge is quite expensive (about A$10). ガス炊きライブスティームの燃料はブタンガスで、このようなバーナー用のボンベを使っているが、結構高い。 |

The textbook says cheep ones are available in Asian grocery shop. That means butane cartridges for portable stove may be able to use. The cost would be about 1/8 of above (A$5.2 for four at a Korean glossary shop). I remembered Dave used the same type of ones. I made an adaptor and tried one stocked at home. Some times it charged well but other time didn't. Why? 教科書にはアジア系の店で安く売っていると出ていた。ということはカセットコンロ用のが使えるのか？コンロ用のボンベは値段が上のものの1/8位なので助かる。そういえばデーブもカセットコンロ用のボンベをつかっていた。早速このようなアダプターを作って試してみた。しかし、よく充填されるときとされない時がある。実は上のボンベでもさっぱり充填されない時がある。どうして差が出るのかよくわからん。 |

I wondered what was inside the stove cartridges. I cut out the bottom of the cartridge to see its inside. The gas exhaust tube extended to one side of the cartridge that supposed to be installed in a stove upward. This should not be a problem when charging to the gas tank of the loco. ボンベの中がどうなってるか気になったので、空になったボンベを缶切りで開けてみた。このボンベは上の写真に見える切り欠きを上にしてコンロに取り付けることになっているので、ガスの取り入れ口が切り欠き側に伸びている。これならボンベを立てて使用すれば液相充填になり問題はないはずだ。 |

Later it was realised that if the tank was too warm the gas did not go into the tank. I tried gas charging when the tank was cool and the tank was charged nicely. When the gas charged to the tank, the tank is cooled down by the gas. If the tank is not cooled down while charging, the gas is not charged well. その後、ガスタンクが温まってるとガスが入らないということがわかったのでタンクが冷えている状態でコンロ用のボンベからいれてみた。しっかり充填できた。充填出来ているときはタンクの温度が下がる。タンクを触りながら充填し、タンクが冷たくならなければ充填されていないのである。 ボンベ内のガスが減ってくると充填できなくなるので空にならなくても使えなくなってしまう。しかしコンロに使うには十分な量が残っている。ライブに新しいのを使い、減って充填ができなくなったのをコンロにまわせばいいのである。 |

This spray is used to trouble shoot electronic circuit by spot freezing. I may try this one to cool down the tank when gas charge is hard. Added) これは電子回路のトラブルシューティングなんかに使う、スポット冷却スプレーである。タンクが温まり充填ができないときはこれで冷やしてしまえばいいんではないかと思い、買ってみた。まだ試してはいないが効果はあるはず。 追記） |
