I wanted thin OD fibre washers, but could get only this type of ones. So I tried to trim the washers by the lathe. I had no confidence if it worked or not.

細身のファイバーワッシャーが欲しかったんだが、こんな幅広の物しか手に入らなかった。そこでこれを旋盤で削ってみることにしました。うまく行くかわからないけど。

I made this mandrel. Arrowed part must fit nicely to ID of the washers.

このようなヤトイを作ります。矢印の部分はワッシャーの内径に合わせます。

Washers were mounted to the mandrel. Maximum six washers can be mounted.

ワッシャーをヤトイに取り付け。一度に6枚まで取り付けられるようにしました。

Fibre was cut nicely with lathe.

切削中。おー、きれいに削れるではないか。

Turning was finished.

切削完了。

Finished thinner washers looked nice. However the washers on both ends had burs. They can be used later to turn other washers.

成功であるな。ただし、矢印の両端はバリが出てちょっと使い物にならん。まあ、次削るとき、ダミーとして両側につければいいんだが。
