I wanted a height gauge, but proper ones are quite expensive and heavy. I had bought this very simple one. So I modified this for scribing.

ハイトゲージがほしかったんですが、ちゃんとしたやつは高いし重いし、ちょっとまだ買う気になれない。そこで以前こんないい加減なハイトゲージを見つけて衝動買いしていました。これを改造し罫書きができるようにします。

The original purpose of this device was to set the hight of router bit. The tip was aluminium and of course it could not be used for scribing. Simply add a hard tip to this and it might be used for scribing.

これの本来の使用法はこのようにラウターの刃高を合わせたりするのに使うものです。爪はアルミ製。もちろん罫書きなんかには使えません。この爪の部分だけ、硬い材料に変えれば罫書きにもそこそこ使えるようになるのでは？

I used this silver steel rectangular bar I made before.

そこで以前作っておいたドリルロッドの角棒が役に立つのです。

Cut one tip of the bar at 30deg. The angle was adjusted by a protractor.

この角材の先端を30°に削ります。分度器を使って角度を出し。

I cut the tip at the angle.

先端を削ります。

Also two 3mm mounting holes with counter-sink were made. Mounting part was cut further 0.3mm.

さらに、皿モミをして、3mmの取り付け穴をあけます。取り付け穴のところは0.3mmほど掘り下げてあります。
