“Gonou Line” was a local line in Tohoku District of Japanese Main Island. The line ran mostly along the sea coast in the area called Tsugaru, very north part of Main Island. It was not convenient to visit this line on the way to Hokkaidou, and I did not visit the line in winters. So all photos here shown were taken in summer time.

The Tsugaru dialect was very unique and different from Tokyo Yamanote dialect I spoke. Once an old lady talked to me on a train, but I could not understand even one word she spoke.

五能線と言えば海岸線の美しさでしょうか。汽罐車とこんな海岸風景が一緒に撮れる場所はほかにはあなりなかったなー。

“Gonou Line” was a unique place we could photograph steam locos in beautiful coast line senary.
