肥薩線で活躍してたD51は人吉機関区で整備されていました。まあほかにも、C55、C57なんかもいたわけですが。

The D51's used in Hisatsu Line were maintained in Hitoyoshi Engine Depot. Hitoyoshi Engine Depot did not have capability to perform major maintenance. Minor maintenance (provably monthly) was carried out there. The photos of this section shows the scenes of minor maintenance.
