小樽築港機関区にはよくお世話になりました。当時は機関区の事務所に断りを入れておけば、機関区内をうろついて写真を撮っても文句を言われないという状態でした。そればかりか、汽缶車運用表を見せてもらい、どの罐がどの列車を引くのかまで調べさせていただいてました。

I often took photos in Otaru-chikukou engine depot. It was easy to get permission from the depot office by just saying hello. Further more I used to ask to see loco allocation table to know which loco would be on duty.
