The length of Weathertex boards for track bases are 3.6m. I cut them to 2.4m to suit to fence pole interval.

線路基盤はWeathertexですがこれは3.6mあるのでフェンスの柱の間隔の2.4mに切ります。

I applied outdoor grade paint “Solarguard” to protect the board. I prefer indistinctive colour and chose mission brown.

保護のため屋外用の塗料を塗ります。えらくねばねばの塗料である。色は基盤が目立たないように茶色にしました。

I painted them with a brush and roller.

はけとローラーで塗っていく。ローラーはすごく楽にきれいに塗れる。

I applied two coats on top and one coat on bottom.

表二回、裏一回塗りとした。

Weathertex boards are bit floppy. So I attached channel material for wall board mounting. They are 70X35mm and make from thin steel. I am not sure how they are used in house construction. They do not seem strong, but light in weight and cheep. I fixed them to Weathertex boards with woodscrews.

Weathertexはヘロヘロなので裏打ちをする。70X35mmの鉄チャンネル。建築の壁パネルに使うらしい。薄くてあまり強度はなさそうだが安くて軽い。これをWeathertexに木ねじで止めた。

I could not get short screws for outdoor use and had to use 8G 15mm screws, too long for Weathertex.

屋外用の短い木ねじが手に入らなかったので15mmのものを使用せざるをえなかった。当然先端が表に出てしまう。

The tips of the screws were ground down by an angle grinder.

表面に出てしまった分はアングル・グラインダーで削りとった。

The reinforced board was temporarily installed.

とりあえず置いてみる。

I checked the level and found the right side was bit low.

水準器で測ってみると少し右側が下がっていた。

The level was adjusted by 6mm hardwood shim.

6mm厚の堅木製のシムをかませて水平を出した。

Three boards were installed to the supports with 5mm gaps for drainage.

線路基板をサポートにネジ止め。さらに二枚水はけのために5mmほど間を開けて取り付け。

I repainted damaged parts (by angle grinder) and screwed parts.

グラインダーで削ったところとネジ止め部分に塗料を塗ってこのセクションは一応完成。
