The loop would be closed by installing this part and the new line could be used for steam up.
The last part had to be removable to clear the pass. The span was 1.8m. This is longer than former removable part and the displacement at the centre would be almost double of 1.5m span. I worried about this, but employed the same structure as before. If there would be a problem I would devise a solution.
I measured the levelness of the tracks. The length of the loop is about 50m and I worried accumulation of errors in levelness. The result was about 15mm and it would be OK. I adjusted the heights in a couple of sections.
This is the levelness measurement of the last section. It would be good enough.
To cut out sleeper parts of removable part connectors I used circular saw, but it was not so comfortable. I used an angle grinder this time. I fixed the brass sheet to a workbench and slid the grinder horizontally. The holding force of the workbench was not great and I cut the work gradually.
If the work was cut at once, the work may move resulting angled cut.
The last removable part was installed.
The loop closed!
I cleaned, checked and adjusted existing parts. I found some bolts were loose and tracks were out of level.
I tried to run my loco at the first time.
I installed track beds carefully to keep in level, but it seemed there were some slopes. The live steam loco is much sensitive than my level and changed her speed according to very slight slopes. I uploaded a movie to Youtube as below.
