Upper moulds are already used for about 40 times and look whitish comparing to the new moulds at bottom. After 30 shots it became harder to remove the products from the moulds. The surface of the moulds was getting rough. Finally some parts of the mould came out with products. So I decided to make new moulds. I separation agent is used, the moulds last much longer and separating the products from the moulds is easier. However according to some articles I read, removing separating agent from the products is not so easy job. So I do not apply any separating agent. Anyway if original masters are kept making of moulds are not so hard.

上が約40個複製を作った後のシリコン型です。下の新製した方に比べると白っぽくなっているのがわかります。30個を過ぎたあたりから複製を剥がしづらくなってきました。表面が荒れてきたようです。複製にシリコンが付着してむしれるようになってしまったので、型を作りなおしました。離型剤を塗ると剥がしやすく、型も長持ちするということですが、複製から離経済を剥がすのが面倒そうなので、私は使っていません。マスターをとってあるので、型はすぐ作れます。

On the other hand the moulds complex as left may not have long life. I made only two shots from this and some parts already came out. In this case I may be able to get four shots or so. Simple ones can stand for 30 to 40 shots, but complex ones are totally depends on their complexity.

しかしこのような複雑なものは10個もできないと思います。この型からはまだ2個しか作っていませんが、すでに一部むしれています。4個がいいところかもしれません。単純なもので30から40個、複雑なものはその複雑さしだいってことです。

Damaged mould are cut by scissors and recycled as filling of the new moulds.

だめになった型ははさみで細かく切り、充填用としてリサイクルしています。
