I wanted trucks like this as standard truck for my passenger carriages. It is an arch-bar truck, but slightly different from ordinary ones. If I can not buy them then scratch build them! I used resin moulding technique.

こんな感じの台車がほしかったんです。普通のアーチバーとはちょっと違います。これは古い気動車によく見られるタイプです。左の写真は下記のサイトの中で見つけました。

こんな台車売ってるわけありません。なければ作ってしまえ！ということで、レジンモールディングでのスクラッチビルドに挑戦。

I made master of the truck frame from styrene sheets as usual. I do not like arch at top edge and changed it to straight.
Axle box is made from styrene sheets, plastic bar, and nut parts I found in a model shop in Japan.

台車枠のマスターをスチロール板で製作。上辺の反っているのは嫌いなのでまっすぐにしてしまいました。軸箱はやはりスチロール板、７mmアクリル棒、プラモデルやで見つけたナットの部品作りました。

It was too hard to make identical two axle boxes. So I made one and duplicated by cast moulding.
This is the finished master and its silicone mould. The shape of the master is quite complex and removing the master from the mould was not so easy. That means the life of the mould does not seem so long.

完成したマスターとシリコン型。軸箱を２個同じ物を作るのは大変なので、レジンモールディングで２個に増やしました。
デテイル凝りすぎたので型からすごく抜きにくい。この型あまり持ちそうもありません。

完成！でもちょっと凝りすぎかな？写真を眺めているうちに、なまじ構造が理解できたため、市販の部品のような平面的な物を作る気がしなくなってしまった。
ボルスター周りの立体感がいい感じです。

I think this project is quite successful as my first attempt of resin moulding. I felt this technique was difficult before starting, but found it was quite easy.

レジンモールドは敷居が高いと感じていましたが、実際やってみると別に大変でもありません。結構楽しくできました。気泡との戦いには気を抜けませんが。
