I decided to make small parts at this stage and made the hand brake wheel at first. I looked for a cylinder with proper diameter and rounded 2mm aluminium wire around it.

ここで小物部品を作ってしまうことにしました。まずはブレーキハンドル。適当なサイズの円筒に2mmのアルミ棒を巻きつけます。

A ring was made.

こんな輪っかが出来ます。

I made spokes from styrene sheet. I made them curved.

スチロール版から切り出したスポークを付けます。まっすぐではなく曲がったスポークにしましたがもう少し派手に曲がっていたほうがいいかも。

Handle was turned from 2mm styrene rod.

取手は2mmスチロール棒より切削。

The brake was wheel finished with handle. This would be the master for resin casting.

これを上の輪っかにつければ出来上がり。例によってレジンで複製します。

Also I made brake handle support.

ブレーキハンドル・サポートも製作。

I made a ratchet wheel.

This is the finished brake ratchet. However I made this only from my imagination. I could not see any ratchet on the photos of prototype.

組み立てるとこのようになる。ブレーキハンドルのラチェットです。でもこれは想像だけで作った物。ウェブで見つけた井笠のホハ１の写真にはこのようなもんが見当たらない。実物ではブレーキの固定はどうやっていたんでしょうか？
