I made tail light lenses by heat-pressing PVC sheet. This is the mould for heat-pressing. I turned the curve on a piece of acrylic bar with a form tool.

尾灯のレンズを作ります。塩ビのヒートプレスで作るので型を作ります。レンズ半径3mmにする予定なのでアクリル棒の先端をR3の半球状に姿バイトで削ります。

I heated up a piece of thin PVC sheet and pressed to the mould.

薄手の塩ビ板をろうそくで加熱し、柔らかくなったら型に押し当てます。

I punched out the lenses with a 5mm punch.

これを5mmのポンチで打ち抜けば、レンズができます。

Mass-produced lenses. I might loose many lenses on the way. So I made plenty.

量産したレンズ。どうせ、かなり無くしそうなので大量に作った。

I fixed the lenses to an wood piece with Blu-tack.

レンズを塗装するために割り箸にブルータックで仮止め。レンズの内側はアルコールを染み込ませた綿棒で脱脂をしておく。

I sprayed Tamiya clear red acrylic paint bit thick.

タミヤのアクリルクリアーをかなり厚めに吹きつけた。

Painted tail light lenses.

出来上がったレンズ。

The tail light parts were mass-produced by resin casting.

レジンで尾灯部品で量産。

I drilled two holes for LED leads on the end beams.

取り付けはこのように行った。まずは端梁に穴を開けてLEDの足を通す。

Then the housing was bonded to the end panel. The reflector disks are not fixed yet. They will be fixed after painting.

その上に本体を接着。反射板は塗装後に取り付け予定なのでここでは置いてみただけ。
