I decided to make bonnet roof from laminated styrene. I laminated four 1.5mm styrene to make 6mm thickness.

結局、ボンネットの屋根は積層スチロールから削りだすことにしました。1.5mmのスチロール板を4枚重ねて接着した物を準備します。

Shape this roughly and add 4.5X0.25mm styrene strips to both sides.

これを削って大体の型にし、両側に4.5X0.25mmのスチロール帯を貼り付けます。

Styrene strips extrude about 2mm at bottom. Mounting holes were drilled.

スチロール帯は2mmほど下に出っ張ってます。また取り付けねじ穴をあけます。

File down the roof to the shape. It is much better and easier than MDF + thin plate.

さらに削って形を整えます。MDF+薄板よりははるかにいいです。

Diluted putty was applied to cover joints.

積層スチロールの継ぎ目がちょっと段になっているので、溶きパテで埋めておきます。

Joint part of the roof plates were added (2X0.25mm styrene strip). Further details will be added later after finishing engine.

継ぎ目の部分を0.25mmのスチロール帯で表現。これ以降のデテールはエンジンとのからみがあるのでエンジンを作ってからにします。
