エンジン取り付けブラケットです。

I made cooling water hose from 2mm aluminium rod and installed between the radiator and water pump.

冷却水ホースは2mmのアルミ棒で作り、ラジエター、ウォーターポンプ間に設置。

I made throttle lever of fuel injection pump from 0.5mm brass sheet, then 0.8mm brass wire was soldered as a shaft. Operation rod was from 0.5mm brass wire and rod adjuster was turned from 1.5mm styrene hex rod.

燃料噴射ポンプにつくスロットルレバーです。0.5mmの真鍮板から切り出し、0.8mmの真鍮線を半田付け。操作ロッドは0.5mm真鍮線。ロッドアジャスターは1.5mm六角スチロール棒から削りました。

The left side of the engine was mostly finished by adding throttle lever and other piping. I used 0.56mm solder wire as the pipe to fuel injection pump.

スロットルレバー、その他のパイピングを取り付けて、一応エンジンの左側完成です。インジェクションポンプへの燃料パイプは0.56mmの半田です。

Some detail parts for the bonnet roof were made. This is the air cleaner cover made from three 1.5mm styrene sheets laminated. At first I turned it on M3 screw then replaced the screw with 3mm styrene rod and finished it.

ボンネットのディテールに移ります。これは1.5mmスチロール三枚積層のエアクリーナーカバーです。M3のビスで固定して、ボール盤で削った後、ビスの代わりに3mmのスチロール棒を接着して頂部を仕上げます。

Under side of the air cleaner cover must fit to the curvature of the bonnet roof. So I temporarily attached a piece of sand paper by double sided tape on the roof and sanded the air cleaner cover.

エアクリーナーカバーの下部はボンネットのカーブに合わせなければならないので、ボンネットに両面テープで紙やすりを固定して削りました。

これは砂箱の蓋ですが、スチロールの組み合わせで作り、レジンで二個に増やします。

The bonnet cover has fixing bolt heads. I made a paper gauge to fix them in even spacing. The bolt heads were cut from heat stretched styrene hex rod to 0.8mm.

ボンネットの屋根板を固定しているボルトの頭を取り付けるために、紙に等間隔の印をつけて、屋根に巻きつけます。これを基準にして、1.5mmスチロール六角棒を引き伸ばして作った0.8mmのボルトヘッドを接着します。

At this stage I made a hole for exhaust pipe on the bonnet roof. The position of the hole was slightly out and I had to make the hole larger. Anyway the too large hole was filled by CA putty. I looked around the photos of prototypes, but could not see any silencers installed. Was it a common practice not to have silencers at all?

この段階で排気管を通す穴を屋根にあけました。ちょっとずれたので穴が大きくなってしまいました。瞬間パテで埋めてあります。このたぐいのDLの写真をいくら探しても排気マフラーが見当たりません。マフラーなしでいきなり排気していたようですね。昔、大井川でDL牽引の列車に乗ったときも、別にうるさいとも思わなかったので、このたぐいのディーゼルエンジンってそんなにうるさくないんでしょうか？
