DL was damaged by a falling accident. One end beam displaced, bonnet metal work deformed, dummy engine came out. However I thought it could be repairable. .

転落事故を起こし中破してしまったDLです。フレーム端梁は食い込み、ラジエターは傾き、エンジンは外れました。でも、何とかなりそう。

The dummy couplers were broken apart, but the damage of the track was not so bad. This mostly fixed just by reassembly.

ダミーカプラは粉砕ですが、台車の方はそれほどひどくないですね。ばらして組みなおせばほぼ修理完了です。

Hardest part was repair of the handrail on the cab. The soldering between handrail and fixing pins were totally broken remaining the pin in styrene cab as shown “A.” I managed to remove the pins (1mm) by drilling the centre of the pins by 0.8mm drill as “B.”

運転室の手すりが一番厄介かも。半田付けが外れて、取っ手が取れ、真鍮線だけがスチロールの運転室本体の中にAのように残ってしまった。仕方がないので、0.8mmのドリルで1mmの真鍮線の真ん中穴をあけなんとか取り出したところがBです。

I made new handrail and fixed the pins. This time I used silver solder to keep strength. I tried “silver solder paste,” mixture of silver solder powder and flux. This worked amazingly well with small size of parts. I could solder them in quite low temperature where the brass was not annealed. .

新しい手すりを作り真鍮線を付けましたが、半田では弱そうなので、銀ロウ付けにしました。今回は「ねり銀ロウ」というのを使ってみました。ようは銀ロウの粉をフラックスで溶いたようなやつです。小さいもののロウ付けには非常にいいです。真鍮が焼き鈍らないくらいの低温できれいにロウ付けできました。

剥げたところをエアブラシで補修塗装して修理完了しました。
