. I want to make some peddler ladies who were common in old good days, and bamboo basket as this. I would be too hard to make it as exactly as this. Well if it seems like, it would be OK.
I cut and tried many ways, but nothing worked well. Following method is far from perfect, but it would be a good compromise.

行商のおばさんを作ろうと思うんですが、この写真のような竹篭を持たせようと思います。まあこのとおりに作るのは無理かもしれないのでそこそこ雰囲気が出れば良しとします。
実はいろいろ試行錯誤したんですが、なかなかうまくできません。以下の方法はまあこんなものでいいかという妥協の産物です。

Push cloth with a coarse texture to it to transfer the pattern.

次に粘土に目の粗い布を押し付けて織り目のパターンを写します。

Bake it with steel plate. After baking remove it from the steel plate by thin knife. It is the template or texture mat.

これを鉄板ごとオーブンで焼いて、鉄板から剥がせばテンプレートの出来上がりです。

Make an armature with cramped aluminium foil. Apply thin layer of clay over it. Push the template to transfer the patter. It does not seem quite similar to the actual photo, but seems OK from distant.

アルミ箔を固めて芯を作り粘土を薄く貼り付け、テンプレートを押し付けてパターンをつけます。元の写真とはだいぶ違いますがこの程度で良しとしました。
