I under-coated the figures with Sculpey sealer. I do not like this paint, but I plan to apply oil paint for final touch and it is necessary.

一応Sculpey専用のシール塗料で下塗りをした。この塗料はあまり好きではないが油絵具を仕上げに使う予定なので塗っておく。

Then I sprayed Tamiya acrylic (fresh). At this stage the imperfections are clearly seen. However Skalpey sealer makes the repair work very difficult. It would be better to apply the sealer after Tamiya acrylic.

さらにタミヤアクリルの肌色を吹付け。この時点であらがよく分かるようになる。しかし、Sculpey専用のシール塗料を塗ったあとでは手直しが非常に困難。アクリルを塗った後にSculpey専用のシール塗料塗ったほうがいいだろう。

I used gouache for base painting. Burned sienna, yellow ochre and white are mixed to make fresh colour. ?

基本塗装にはガッシュを使う。バーント・シエナ、イエロー・オーカー、白を適当に混ぜて肌色を作る。

I applied fresh mix, but not so visible here.

上記の肌色を塗ったところだが写真ではよくわからない。靴の茶色も塗った。

Remaining paint can be kept for a couple of days by covering a piece of wrap.

使い残しのガッシュはラップで包んでおけばしばらくは持つ。

Base printing with gouache finished. The appearance of the figures is flat at this stage.

ガッシュの塗装完了。この状態では平板過ぎて見られたものではない。

I applied wash of diluted gouache. However I think oil paint is better for this purpose.

薄めたガッシュでウィッシュを行う。これは油絵具を使ったほうがいいかもしれない。やはり水彩はこういうのには向かない。

I painted eyes at this stage. In some figures I formed eyes on the clay, but it was not good at all. If I paint the eyes very precisely, it would be OK. However I have no passion to make fancier painting. I used my best brush Winsor & Newton Series 7.

ここで油絵具で目を入れたんだが眼の形を作ったのは失敗であった。あまりうまく塗れない。手間をかけて白目を入れたりすればいいのかもしれんが、そんな根性はない。勝負筆のWinsor & NewtonのSeries 7を使用。

I think it is much better not to form the eyes, but just paint upper eyelids and irises. It is good enough for me.

眼の形などは作らず上瞼と瞳を描いただけで十分だ。これ以上やる気はしない。
