Really I do not like painting. So I want to finish it as quick as possible by painting all four carriages at once. Disassemble them and mask parts as required. Before any paining they must be washed to remove grease.

嫌いな塗装作業にかかります。嫌いな物はまとめて一気に片付けてしまおうと言うことで、4両全部一緒に進めます。
まず、ばらして、必要なところをマスキングしてから、洗剤で脱脂します。

Small parts are washed in a large tea strainer found in an 100-yen shop in Japan. I put ID numbers on parts to restore at the same places as before.

細かい部品は100円ショップで見つけた茶漉しの大きいのに入れて一気に洗います。部品と車体に番号を付けて後で同じところに付けられるようにします。皆微妙に違うので。

Wash the parts　with detergent.

まあこんな感じで大き目の筆を使って洗剤で洗います。

Rinse thoroughly.

洗剤をよく洗い落とし。

Dry them.

干します。

Warm up the primer spray cans in hot water to make finer mist.

プライマーの霧を細かくするためにスプレー缶をお湯で温めておきます。

Primer applied. I used grey primer on “Gasoline Car”, but the covering power of cream and orange was not to good and I needed lot of layers to cover it up. SO this time I used white primer. I sprayed plenty of primer about 15cm from the object to make the surface smoother.

プライマーを吹き終わった本体等。ガソの時はグレーのプライマーを使いましたが、クリーム色、オレンジ色ともカバーする力が弱くプライマーの色を消すまで塗るのが大変でした。そこで今回は塗ってる状態がよくわからないのは承知で白としました。かなり近め、対象の15cmくらいから多めに吹いて、梨地にならないように気を付けます。

I applied oxide colour primer to trucks and wheels.

台車と車輪は錆び色のプライマーで塗りました。
