This carriage is supposed to be made around the same as my “gasoline car”. So it needs a lot of rivets. The rivets at the end of the material are easily made by “rivet press” using its guide. However the guide is not applicable for the rivets at the middle of the materials. So I made a scratch by a scriber and used it as a guide to align rivets. この客車はガソと同様な年代のつもりなのでリベットを打つことにしました。部材の端にあるリベットはリベット打ち出し器で直線上に等間隔できれいに打てますが、部材のまんなかのリベットは、裏にプラカッターで浅い溝をつけてガイドとし打って行きました。 |

Riveted materials are laminated on the base material that has windows cut out. リベット打ちの完了した部材を窓抜きをしたベースの上に積層していきます。横のリベットと縦のリベットに位置がそろってませんが、リベット打ち出し器のインデックス機能を使って端から打って行ったからです。まあ手抜きで楽したわけです。 |

Window sills and headers are added. For pressing rivets on these thin strips it is better to press them on raw materials and cut the strips to the required size. I am a bit sick of riveting. Provably I pressed over 1000 times including faulty ones. |
シル、ヘッダーを取り付けます。シル、ヘッダーのように細いものにリベットを打つには、切り出してからではなかなかうまくいきません。大きな部材に打ち出してから必要な寸法に切り出したほうがうまくいくようです。 ふ〜、このリベット地獄にはいいかげんうんざりしました。失敗した分を含めれば軽く１０００を超えています。 |
