I found this wooden tram model kit in the net. This is the product of Occre, a wooden ship model kit manufacture in Spain. I am not so much interested in electric trains, but this seemed very nice. Occre manufactures some other wooden railway models. This Soller tram is my most favourite. The prototype is a vintage tram of Soller city in Majorca Island of Spain. I have made only scratch-built models for a while and feel making from a kit would be a nice small project.

Just have a look at the contents of the kit. Metal parts were contained in a plastic case. This model is designed as a display model. So wheels were useless for my purpose.

Laser-cut plywood parts. Cuts are nice and clean.

The bunch of wood strips for weatherboard planking.

Obviously the instruction manuals are written in Spanish,? but English translation is attached. Above is glazing material and printed paper parts.

Laser-cut parts were numbered as per the manual.

Floor plate was cut out. It would be the base of the model. I tried various types of tools and found arrowed small knife worked the best.

I filled the grain of the plywood with wooden putty.

Dried putty was sanded down.
