Before starting planking the side panels I decided to mount upper widow sashes. The sashes were too small as usual.

側板の板張り(プランキング）をはじめる前に窓の上枠を取り付ける。例によって窓枠はスカスカである。

I thought sashes can be fixed to broader planking strip, but by doing that overall atmosphere of the tram would be destroyed.

柱に拡めのプランク材を貼り付けてそれに窓枠を貼り付ける手もあるが、それでは全体の雰囲気がぶち壊しである。

So I decided to fix the sashes by inserting narrow strip of plank.

しかたがないのでプランク材の細切りを間に挟んで接着した。

It is always hard to get exact match of the planking pitch at the end. The width of planks varies much. I choose planks with suitable width toward the end.

だいたい、プランキングしてると最後のところがピッタリ合わなくなってしまうんだが、プランク材に微妙な幅の差があるので適当な幅のものを選ん調整した。

Side panels planked. They were applied with three coats of sanding sealer.

プランキング完了した側板。このあとサンディング・シーラーを3回ほどむって目止めをした。

I temporarily assembled overall body. A lot of adjustment was required on the end panels (operator's compartment).

全体の仮組みをしてみた。ここまで到達するのに妻板部分(運転室）の材料のかなりの修正が必要であった。
