I test-ran the loco. It seems bit too large comparing to the carriages, but not so bad. The Stainz seems much more Japanese now. However, when I tried to stop it, the remote control did not work! I checked the range of the radio and found it was shorter than 1m! Why?

テストランです。客車に比べちょっと大きすぎる感じはありますが、まあ良しとしましょう。改造前に比べればはるかに日本的になりました。テスト中に大問題発覚！スタートしたのは良いが、止められない。ラジコンの到達範囲が1m位しかない事が判明。なんでだー？

I disassembled it and tried the radio again. It worked well when the radio PCB was removed from the weight. It seemed if the coils (arrow) were surrounded by metal, the characteristics of the coils were affected.

全部ばらしてテストして見ると5m以上離してもOKです。原因はラジコン基板のコイル（矢印）をウエイトの鉛の中の穴に入れるようにしていたのが良く無かった見たいです。多分周りを金属に囲まれてコイルの特性が変わってしまったようです。

I simply cut the weight more around the coils.

コイル周りのウエイトをさらに削ります。これでコイルが鉛で囲まれないようになりました。

Set the voltage at the track at about 16V, and tried it again. This time it worked quite nicely. The supper capacitors seem working well. The loco runs smoother than before.

レールでの電圧を16Vに設定。極めて快調に動くようになりました。電気二重層コンデンサの効果はかなりあるみたいで、改造前より安定した走りになりました。それほど神経質にレールを磨かなくても集電不良は感じられません。
