We stayed at a summer resort “Payerbach” about one hour trip from Vienna by trains. We could see famous Semmering Line (registered as world heritage) from our accommodation.

ウィーンから列車で1時間ほどのパイアーバッハという避暑地が今回の旅行のベースになりました。世界遺産に登録されたセメリンク鉄道が宿から見えます。

We had a ride of special Semmering site-seeing train. You can take a seat in first class with second class ticket.

セメリンク鉄道の観光用特別列車に乗ってみました。2等の切符で1等の客車に乗れます。

There is a small outdoor railway museum at Payerbach station.

パイアーバッハ駅には小さな鉄道博物館が併設されていました。

This 2-10-2 tank engine has bit strange arrangement. The main rod is connected to fourth wheel with extended piston rod. Why they did not simply connect the main rod to the third (centre) wheel without piston rod extension. I do not understand the design.

この機関車もちょっと変です。わざわざピストンロッドを延長して第4動輪にメインロッドをつないでいます。どうして単純に中央の第3動輪に延長なしでつないではいかんのか、私には理解できません。

There is a small railway from Payerbach to a ropeway station up in the valley. Now small tram like electric cars are operating 4, 5 times a day. This electric loco was used before the introduction of the electric cars.

パイアーバッハ駅からさらに谷をさかのぼりロープウエーの乗り場まで行っている小さな鉄道があります。これは電車が導入される前に使用されていた電気機関車です。
