We got incredible favour from Okoba and Masaki station staff while we took photos. Thank you very much.

大畑、真幸はスイッチバックなので蒸機牽引の通過列車はなかったんですが、通過列車の場合、このタブレットの受け取りはうまくやらないとえらく痛いそうでうね。

There were no passing steam trains at Okoba and Masaki stations. I hard caching tablet carrier from a passing train was some times very painful.

 

 

JNR D51 Class

This loco was equipped with war-time smoke deflectors. The serial number was “1079” that means she was produced in WWII. However her tender was pre-war type. Why? Probably the tender was swapped with other loco.

この罐、戦時型のデフがついてますね。別の写真で調べたら、番号は「1079」と思われます。それなのになぜ戦前型のテンダーが付いているんでしょうか?テンダーの振り替えをしたんでしょうか?
