This is my first airbrush. Cheap Tamiya one, but it is reasonably good concerning about its price. However I do not use it since I have much better ones now.

これは最初に買ったタミヤの安物エアブラシ。値段の割には結構使えた。ただし、下のを買ってからは全然使わなくなった。

Tamiya HG Airbrush. I have used this for more than 10 years. I've had no trouble with this except bent needle. This airbrush is quite nice for detailed work, but bit inconvenient to spray large areas.

タミヤのHGエアブラシ。10年以上愛用している。ニードルを曲げたトラブル以外には全く問題がない。細かい仕事にはいいが広い面積を塗るにはちょっと不便。

I bought this recently to paint large area, but I think this is a sort of rubbish as its price (US$25). I can not recommend this. After I bought Tamiya's similar one I do not use it.

広い面積を塗るために最近買ったんだが安い(US$25)だけにゴミである。おすすめできない。ともかく質が良くないので次のTAMIYAを買った後は使っていない。

This one looks very similar to following Tamiya one, but this one has so many bud pints:

• The mist does not fly straight, but goes obliquely.
• Quality of needle gasket is terrible. After only a couple of use the gasket became quite loose and I do not feel any resistance when inserting the needle. It starts leaking backward. (Tamya HG's gasket is still intact after more than 10 years of use.)
• It is not true double action. The air valve and needle open at the same time.
• Side mounted cup is not easy to clean.

次に紹介するタミヤのトリガー・エアブラシ・ワイド（上）と比べるとそっくりである。しかし、良くないところがいっぱいある。

• 霧がまっすぐ飛ばない。かなり横に行く。（精度が悪い）
• ニードルのオーリングの質が悲惨である。少し使ったらニードルを挿入するときに全くオーリングの抵抗が感じられなくなった。すでにオーリングから漏れ始めている。（上のタミヤ0.3mmは10年以上使って全く問題なし。）
• ちゃんとしたダブルアクションになってない。エアと塗料が同時に出る。
• カップが横についていて掃除がしにくい。

I was sick of quality of Hobby King stuff. So I bought this in Japan. This costed about six times of Hobby King one, but the quality is very good, of course. This does not have any problem as H.K. It is nice size to paint G scale models.

ホビーキングのやつがあまりにも質が悪かったので、日本に行ったときに買ってきてしまった。値段はホビーキングの6倍位するが、質は非常にいい。ホビーキングの問題はすべて解決している。Gゲージの車両を塗るにはちょうどいい大きさだと思う。

Trigger has two-stage operation. This shows the trigger is not pulled.

トリガーは当然のことながら二段動作になっている。これはトリガーをひいていない状態。

This shows the trigger pulled to first stage. In this situation only air valve opens and needle does not move preventing paint flow. Pulling further causes the needle to move and paint flows.

In H.K. one, air valve and needle open at the same time causing paint leak without enough air flow. Then the paint builds up around the nozzle and paint blob may fly to the work.

これが一段目を引いたところ。この状態ではエアだけで塗料は出ない。さらに引くとニードルが動き塗料が出る。

ホビーキングのやつはちょっとでもトリガを引くと空気弁が開くと同時にニードルが引けて塗料が出てしまう。要は、充分に空気が供給されていない状態なのに塗料が出てしまうのだ。その結果ノズルの周りに塗料が溜まってしまい、何かの拍子に塗料の固まりが飛ぶことになる。

My Tamiya 0.3mm airbrush was finally broken. The needle gasket started leaking. It worked over 10 years. I bought this Tamiya 0.2mm fixed cup to replace 0.3mm. I have 0.5mm and do not think 0.3mm is necessary. 0.2mm is good for small work.

タミヤ0.3mmエアブラシがついに逝ってしまった。ニードルガスケットが漏れ始めたのだ。まあ、10年上使ったんだからいいだろう。後継としてこれを買った。カップ一体型の0.2mmである。0.5mmも持っているのであえて0.3mmは要らない。細かいところ、少量の吹付けには便利であろう。

This small fixed cup should be enough for the purpose. Fixed cup is very easy to clean.

このエアブラシで大量の塗料を使うことはないので、このカップで十分だろう。カップ別体に比べ、ご覧のように掃除が非常にやりやすい。

Also I bought nozzle sealant so called "red putty". If there is an air leak at the nozzle air bubbles enter into the paint resulting uneven spray. Air leak can be easily found by the spray sound. If the nozzle tightened too much, it may damage the nozzle. So I think this sealant is a sort of must even it is not so easy to be sourced.

ついでに赤パテと呼ばれるノズルシール材も購入した。ここにエア漏れが有ると塗料側に泡が入り均一な吹付けができなくなる。エア漏れは音ですぐわかる。エア漏れを防ぐために締めすぎるとノズルを傷める可能性が有る。入手がそれほど簡単なものではないがぜひとも必要なものだろう。
