I wanted a bit unusual passengers for carriages and decided to make mendicant monks. Buddhism mendicant monks in Japan always ware a bamboo hat. I made the hats as follows. ちょっと変わった乗客人形を作ろうと思います。で、托鉢僧を作る事にしました。ネットで托鉢僧の写真を検索し、参考にします。まずは笠を作ろうと思います。 |

I made a master of the hat from MDF turned on a drill bench. The hole for the screw head was filled with CA putty. MDFを適当に丸く切り出し、ボール盤で削って、らしい型を作ります。ネジの穴は瞬間パテで埋めました。 |

But it was found a mistake. The CA putty swelled when baked in an oven. So I removed the CA putty. ところがこれが失敗で、オーブンで加熱すると膨れることが判明。瞬間パテは削り取りました。 |

Apply thin layer of oven-bake clay on the master. これに薄く伸ばしたオーブン粘土を貼り付け。 |

Then make texture by pushing the texture mat made for bamboo basket before. これに以前、竹篭用に作ったテンプレートを押し付け模様を付けます。 |

I put this on a stand made from aluminium foil and baked. これをアルミフォイルで作ったスタンドに立てて、型ごと焼きます。 |

Baked hat was put on a figure to see how it was. I wanted to have a rim around the hat, but found it was too difficult for me and gave it up. できたのを、ちょっと人形にかぶせて見ました。まあ、こんなもんでしょう。ふちも付けようと思ったんですが、難しすぎるのであきらめました。 |
