I failed on decal application by silvering before. So I sanded down the place decal applied by 1200 grit sandpaper. See here for details of silvering.

レタリングのデカールは以前白浮きで失敗しているので、貼り付ける場所を1200番のサンドペーパーで平滑にした。詳しくはこちら参照。

This time decal adhered quite well. The decals were covered by Humbrol satin clear varnish.

今回はうまく付いた。この後半ツヤのハンブロールクリアを保護と表面の感じを揃えるために吹きつけた。

I made name plates. I used tonner transfer method as usual. The left is laser print out and the right is plate material, 0.8mm brass.

銘板を作る。いつものようにトナー転写方で作る。左のがレーザープリンターで打ち出した原稿。これを右の0.8mm真鍮板に転写する。

Etched name plates. I etched it by ferric chloride solution by about 40 minutes. I think this would be the maximum time for tonner to keep in place. I got enough etching depth.

エッチング完了した銘板。塩化第二鉄溶液で約40分エッチングした。この時間がほぼ限界と思われる。水洗時、トナーが水を当てただけで剥がれてしまった。かなり深くエッチングできた。

I cut out best ones.

出来の良いものだけを選んで切り出した。

I applied clear varnish at first, and filled the recesses by Humbol red enamel. Then I tried to wipe out enamel at high points by cotton tips soaked with thinner. However it did not work well and the varnish started to be damaged by the thinner.

初めに錆止めのクリア塗料スプレーしてハンブロールの赤を塗り、出っ張っているところをシンナーを含ませた綿棒で落としたんだが、これが全然うまくいかない。そのうちクリア塗装までシンナーで犯されて剥げてきた。

I sand the paint down by 600 grid sandpaper. It worked quite well.

600番のサンドペーパーで落とすことにした。

Then I sprayed Humbrol satin varnish to protect the material from rusting.

その後、ハンブロールの半艶クリアを吹いて錆止めとした。

I installed the plates by double-sided tape. The double sided tape was cut at just inside of the edges.

貼り付けは両面テープで行うことにした。名盤の裏に両面テープを貼り付け少し内側に切れ目を入れ、

Excess tape was removed.

外側を剥がす。

I positioned the plates by masking tapes.

マスキングテープで位置を貼り付ける。

Other plates were installed to the cabin.

運転室の銘板も同様にして貼り付け。
